We all know that even if the best Internet marketing company proclaims that content is king, pictures still rule. Human beings are essentially visual creatures whose attentions get drawn and are sustained by what they see, not necessarily by what they have to read. The thing about the first statement though, is that we ordinary people usually just associate "content" to text. Thus, when we hear that adage of content being king, we think that there is no way else to succeed in marketing content than through good articles and text-heavy content. But then, the content is quite an encompassing term that can include a lot of types. Videos, audio clips, and picture can also be considered content. That said, even pictures should be of high quality and relevance, so that they can be marketed properly and represent the business well.

But now that we know that we can use pictures as a content marketing tool, the next question is, what pictures should we use? As mentioned earlier, there is a need to use high quality and highly relevant pictures, but what would be great ideas for pictures to use as content? Here are some ideas:

Images that are self-explanatory

Pictures that can stand on their own are the most shareable images. This is because the people who would share these images feel they won't need to exert too much effort in sharing them. They will share those images (with a link to your website, of course) just for the sole purpose of the image, even if they haven't read the post or don't care about the rest of it. Furthermore, as it stands on its own, this kind of picture will attract more attention and will have its own traction, so you don't need to do much.

Images that are message-oriented

Images that are closely related to your message, especially those that sum up a post or provide a quote that has a lot of recall, will be very effective content marketing tools as they will arouse the curiosity of people who will most likely read the rest of your post. A post containing a poster or a meme that capsulizes your blog or article will surely have a lot of clicks.

Images that have inspirational messages

People love sharing text-pictures with messages of hope, kindness and self-confidence. If there is a message in your post that you can turn into something inspirational, then it would be more sharable and attractive to readers if done through an image.

Images with humorous messages

Aside from inspirational messages, there is nothing more people love sharing than something that will brighten their day and make them laugh. It is just a stressful world we live in, and anything funny - a cartoon, a meme, can get your post shared a lot of times. Having a funny angle on your topic and using a picture to promote it is a wise idea.

Using pictures and images in content marketing is already a battle won. You can win the war of you find more effective ways of getting your pictures out there and using them to further your other types of content.
